I got a note today from Julian Tan.
Here is Julian’s question:
hi, I have a question, I sent my application for the philippine dual citizenshp at the philippine embassy at washington dc with all papers and money order payment was mailed, I received a phone call on my answering machine on may 19th that they recieve my application. So how long does it take to process my application? do I get a something in the mail when its apporved. today is July 12th. thanks…
Hi Julian and thank you for writing. I just want to clarify that I am a private individual, not part of the Government, so I can’t really answer for what any delay is in a Government office like the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC.
I will say that it does seem that the delay is rather excessive with your application. I would recommend that you call the Embassy and follow up on the application, ask them what the current status is, and when they expect it to be completed. Usually, from what I have been told, these applications only take a week or two, unless there is an unexpectedly large number of applications to process. So, a phone call to the Embassy is probably your best way to clear up the delay.
Good luck to you, Julian.
